Conduct of players on and off the pitch
Please note that all our In2Touch leagues are played at a social level unless otherwise stated.
We do our best to match teams up at a similar level. However, this is not always possible. We’d like to kindly ask everyone to play the game in the fun and friendly manner as it is designed to assist newer players/teams to learn the game, remembering that we were all beginners at one point or another.
It’s human nature to want to win, however, any untoward behaviour toward another player, a referee or organiser is unacceptable. Unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind will not be tolerated! We would like to think that everyone can together and enjoy their weekly game of Touch with their teams and friends.
Should you like to play Touch more competitively alongside your weekly social game, several Touch clubs in London play in our advanced league. They also train and play in regional and national tournaments. If this is something you’d like to get into, please email us at email@example.com.
Conduct towards referees
Referees are there to ensure that you have an enjoyable experience at the league.
We would appreciate it if you could help us ensure a great atmosphere on the fields by treating the referees the way you as a player, would like to be treated.
Referees, much like players, do not always get things 100% correct, but they do try their best to ensure that the right calls are made from what they have seen. The referees are there to keep all players safe, be fair and impartial, aiding in everyone having a fantastic In 2 Touch experience.
Please do not backchat the referees or continually question their calls during the match. This doesn’t help anyone or assist in creating a good atmosphere. Being repeatedly asked about decisions undoubtedly leads to more mistakes being made, which is not in the best interest of anyone. Do understand that there are different levels of referees, from level 5, the highest qualified level in Europe, to level 1 and unqualified current/past players who may have recently decided to pick up the whistle – wanting to give back to the game. While they have the support and training from the In2Touch staff and the qualified referees to learn from, every referee is different and will make mistakes from time to time.
We want the players and referees to enjoy the game as much as possible. However, if you have an issue with any calls or decisions during a match, please address them to the venue manager at halftime or after the game. You may even take them up with the In2Touch Office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, and we can look into things for you.
Foul play and abuse of In 2 Touch officials will not be tolerated under any circumstances. It is incumbent on all players to observe the rule of the competition and not indulge in any behaviour that would be unruly or unsportsmanlike in nature. In 2 Touch, management and referees reserve the right to eject anyone from the competition should they be seen to be indulging in such behaviour with no right of recourse or reimbursement of any monies paid.
